Domain name registration through GoDaddy is easy. On the homepage of the website (, there is a large search box. You simply type in your desired domain, or the name of your website, and the tool will display all available domains. Options are available whether or not to show anything besides the big three –.com, .net, and .org. “.com” domains are the most common, but also hardest to obtain because they are so common.

Once you’ve entered your keyword or website name, a list of options will be shown that include variations on the name, if it is taken GoDaddy email login . On the far right side of this is a box that says “Add” — clicking that places the domain name into your shopping cart, from where you can continue shopping or check out. When you’ve made your decision and checked out, the cart will carry you through the process and show you how to register your domain name in easy to follow steps. At this stage, you can add hosting into the mix. GoDaddy has good prices, with some domains costing as little as $0.99, but usually around $12.99. Some cost much more, but these sites are usually older or hold a higher value in relation to their name.

One thing to be aware of is the first year price and the renewal price; these might not be the same, so pay attention and know what to expect to pay when renewal costs come around. Hosting costs around $60.00, which isn’t a bad price – some places charge around the same, while other companies may charge more. There are different hosting packages which you can select based on your estimated needs.

Once you’ve completed the process and purchased your website and completed your domain name registration, you’ll be ready to begin building your site. GoDaddy has tools available to help you, with everything from WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editors to in-depth HTML tools that allow you to customize each aspect of your website. Email address are included with the hosting, which are usually youraddress @ yourwebsitename.extension. Once your name is registered, it can take a few days before Google indexes your site into search engines, so focus on adding content and building your site. You will automatically show up in search engines. Many of the web tools provided will help handle the semantics of web hosting and the tedious, small tasks for you.

All in all, I would recommend the service. I hope this GoDaddy review has been useful; they are a good company with fantastic 24/7 customer support and both English and Spanish speakers. Although their commercials are a little weird, their domains and hosting are as reliable as a strong man in a tank top

I use Godaddy to host my websites and it has taken me a great deal of research and time on figuring this out but now that I have figured it out it’s not too hard to implement. Your first step in getting the search engine friendly URLs is making sure that you have their linux hosting package. Normally when you sign up with Godaddy you’ll think to get the Windows based server, however if you want search engine friendly URLs with Joomla, you’ll pick the linux hosting. If you don’t have it you can simply call customer service and they will switch you over. If you’re not sure what you have, you can check it out by logging into your Joomla account, click on the ‘help’ tab and look at the table on this page. Where it says “PHP built on” you should have linux stated as the server. Your next step is to go into the global configuration page. Here under ‘SEO Settings’ you will want to check ‘yes’ for each box. Now for the next step you’re going to have to log into your Godaddy account and go into the file manager for your website. In the root directory (main folder where your website is located) of your website you will find a file called htaccess.txt. You will want to change the name of this file to ‘.htaccess’ (without quotes). After this you should have search engine friendly URL’s. Open your website and check to see that everything is working. If you run into any problems you can open your.htaccess file and make sure that it looks something like this:
